Definition of ‘B2G’

The term B2G stands for business to Government and refers to working relationships between a business and a government organization.

This process will normally involve issuing a tender document, obtaining a number of competitive submissions and quotes, and then a lengthy selection process to choose the right party for the B2G contract.

There is a growing tendency for government departments to subcontract work in order to reduce costs and gain expertise. For example, a government department might require a new computer system. Rather than invest in additional staff, a business to Government arrangement will be drawn up with a business in the private sector.
